Political tension erupts at Durgapur court as 'chor,chor' slogans raised against Rajiv Ghosh

Political tension gripped the Durgapur Sub-divisional Court complex when Rajiv Ghosh, the Trinamool Congress Block President facing multiple allegations, was brought to the court for a hearing. According to reports, BJP workers and supporters present within the court premises began chanting slogans of “Chor! Chor!” and gestured at him with their footwear after noticing his arrival. The situation quickly turned tense, prompting the immediate deployment of police personnel and central forces inside the court complex. Security arrangements were subsequently intensified to restore order and prevent any further escalation.

The BJP alleged that Rajiv Ghosh had long been associated with creating an atmosphere of fear, extortion, and political intimidation in the region. District BJP spokesperson Sumanta Mandal claimed that Ghosh maintained his influence by threatening local residents and engaging in corrupt activities. However, no official statement regarding these allegations has yet been issued by the Trinamool Congress. Police personnel continued to maintain strict vigil within the court premises while legal proceedings and the investigation into the matter remained underway.
